This Pretty Planet  by Tom Chapin
This pretty planet, spinning through space,
You're a garden, You're a harbor, You're a holy place
Golden sun going down, Gentle blue giant, spin us around.
All through the night, safe till the morning light.

4. Have a spring Dance party with a person who lives in your house!

or

5. Listen to "Spring" by A. Vivaldi
Think about this when you listen:
What instruments do you hear?
Is this music mostly fast or slow?
How do you feel when you listen to this music?
Can you dance to this music?

3-4 Choice board: choose two activities to do
this week of the following:

1.  Watch:  Dr. Suess's musical, "The Lorax".  A musical is an art form that
Uses music to help tell the story, so pay attention to the songs so you know what is
Going on in the story.

Think about this:
What would happen if we took the songs out of the story?
How does having music in the story affect the story?
Now:  Think of some way you can do something to help the Earth.  Then DO IT!

2. Listen to " Let it Grow" from the Lorax and make up choreography for the verse and the refrain. Your actions should match the words.
Remember that the verses change, but the refrain remains the same.
Therefore, your movements for the refrain *the repeating parts should
Always be the same.

3. Listen to "Spring" by A. Vivaldi
Think about this when you listen:
What instruments do you hear?
What is the Tempo?
Is this music mostly Presto (fast) or Adagio (slow) or moderato (medium)?
How do you feel when you listen to this music?
Can you dance to this music?
What is the form?  ABA or ABACABA

4.  Have a spring Dance Party:  Choose your favorite song and dance with someone in your
House!  Make sure your movements reflect the music.  Match the tempo and show the rhythm or beat
in some way.  Have Fun!!!

or

5. Learn " This Pretty Planet" by Tom Chapin
These are the lyrics:
This pretty planet, spinning through space,
You're a garden, You're a harbor, You're a holy place
Golden sun going down, Gentle blue giant, spin us around.
All through the night, safe till the morning light.

Listen to and sing the song.
Think about it: What word best describes this music:  peaceful, angry, or happy?
If you were the video editor What place would have included in the video that would reflect the Lyrics?   Write out your answer and tell me why you chose this spot or draw a picture of it!
