Music Class # 10   Memorial Day Celebration All Grades This past weekend was Memorial Day!  All Grades are going to sing Patriotic Songs to Celebrate Memorial day.    K-4 do the following:   What is Memorial Day?  watch this short video that explains what Memorial day is  and why  we Celebrate it. Today we are going to Honor our Hero's by singing Patriotic songs.   A patriotic song   is about honoring your country.  Today we are going to learn several American patriotic songs.  Memorial Day is an American holiday.   Have you ever been to a parade?   As you listen to pretend  to play a band instrument and have a  family Parade!  This is called "Stars and Stripes" by John Phillip Sousa.  You will  hear this song a lot in parades that celebrate the USA.  It is  a patriotic song.  **Mr. Sousa was born on   November 6, 1854 – March 6, 1932.  He was an American composer and conductor, primarily for American military marches.
